We were invited to check out Knott’s Scary Farm on Opening Night. Wow, what an incredible new lineup of mazes this year.
Getting ready to check in.
Picked up our media credentials
We got into the park at 6:45 PM. The first maze we hit was the Voodoo. This year is a bit different. The Voodoo maze now starts from the back of the maze and end in the front. Overall, fantastic bayou maze as always.
Our 2nd maze of the night was the Paranormal Inc.
This maze was excellent. The actress playing the reporter during the pre-show of the maze was OUTSTANDING!
We were then treated to a nice delicious media reception. The food was amazingly delicious! There’s also a pretty cool ice sculpture for the shrimp cocktails.
Pretty scary sweet looking desserts, but they were all good.
After the reception, we went to check out the Newest Anticipated maze of the year “Dark Ride”
Wow! The NEW “Dark Ride” Maze was amazing. It was seriously incredible! Probably our # 1 Maze in Knott’s Scary Farm history.
It actually felt like you are walking into an abandoned carnival dark ride.
There are plenty of carnival ride animatronics in the Dark Ride.
Here’s a video we filmed of “Dark Ride”
Next up was Pumpkin Eater. Another steller NEW Maze at Knott’s this year. Lots of pumpkins in there. You also get to walk inside the cavity of the pumpkin where you may get a bit wet toward the end section of the pumpkin’s cavity. Gotta love the new vibrating floor toward the end of the maze. Overall, the set design was excellent!
Brand new Halloween overlay for the Timber Mountain Mountain Log Ride called “Halloween Hootenanny”
“Halloween Hootenanny” overlay was superb! There are also scare actors on the ride. Very cute Halloween overlay for the whole family to enjoy.
Check out the video we filmed of Halloween log ride.
We then head back to Ghost town to check out anther maze we missed earlier. Trick or Treat: Light Out. This year the maze is totally different. The maze is now in complete DARKNESS. Everyone now gets an interactive flashlight to go inside and explore the haunted house and find your way out .
Trick or Treat: Lights Out is definitely better this year.
Red Barn returns this year, but with a new plot. Red Barn is definitely better this year.
We love “Special Ops: Infected” it’s a one-of-a-kind experience you can’t find anywhere else.
The wait for this interactive zombie shooting game can get extremely long, so we highly recommend doing this 1st during rope drop.
Shadow Lands still amazed us.
The Hanging: Fake Noose.
“A live stage show in Calico Square that irreverently looks back at the year’s pop culture with some killer comedy. Notorious for its special effects and high-flying stunts, The Hanging® is a no-holds-barred assault on pop culture’s most infamous moments of the past year. A must see parody!” Knott’s website
A MUST SEE SHOW. Very Funny.
Elvira’s Last Show.
“Elvira, the legendary Mistress of the Dark, graces the Knott’s Scary Farm stage for the final time this year! Elvira goes out with a bang in a spectacular all-new show! The one of a kind performance will transport guests to a spooky world full of music, dance and humor. Don’t miss your last chance to pay your respects to the Queen of Halloween at Knott’s Scary Farm!” – Knott’s website
